Okay, so this might be one of my favorite weekend getaways we've had. Maybe because it was so spontaneous - we decided on Monday or Tuesday that we'd go that coming weekend. Or maybe it was just so needed - it's been a super busy and pretty stressful spring for both of us. Or maybe it was such a great deal and we really didn't have much of an agenda. Or maybe it was the whirlpool hot tub in our room that I probably soaked in a total of about 5 hours through the weekend. Or maybe it was just that the Lord was smiling on us and blessed us so much with relaxation and a great time. Thank you!
So, we headed down to Calabash, NC for the weekend and stayed at a place called Brunswick Planation (unbelievable deal on Orbitz for what we got!). Jason had two free passes to golf courses near there because of his golf trip last January that pretty much got rained/snowed out. They were supposed to play 3 rounds, and ended up only playing one, so he got rain checks for the others. They were great golf courses and we didn't have to pay a dime to play them! Well, I just drive the cart, but you know...

So, funny story that I have to tell. We showed up on Saturday at the golf course as a group of about 8 guys were coming out to play. Several of them looked at us and they came over and said "Are you guys a couple?" Well, we said yes, and I wasn't really sure where they were going with it. They said, "So, she's just coming out to ride with you?" We both said yes, and Jason recieved multiple handshakes and I received multiple hugs from men I've never met! They said Jason must be doing something right to get me out there with him just to hang out - I didn't have time to tell them how much God has blessed me and I couldn't ask for a better day than just to hang out with my best friend!

So...even good golfers like Jason have close calls! This one was a little too close for comfort, but you should have seen the hundreds of golf balls just on the other side of the ledge!
On Sunday morning, we drove down to N. Myrtle and had lunch at River City Cafe at Barefoot Landing. It brought back memories of the old summer project days!

Thank you Jesus for such a sweet weekend - it was beyond words!
