Around the house...

So, I'm catching up on the last few months, but I couldn't leave out some fun we've been having around the house lately.

First, I completed my first sewing project! Okay, it was super simple, but I've been wanting to learn how to sew and Jason got me a new sewing machine for Christmas. So, I've put it to use making these two pillows for our living room. Jason keeps asking me when I'm planning to make more, so I think he approves! :-) But I may end up with a house full of pillows... I'm about to begin my next project but it's a gift so I can't say what it is yet...you'll see pictures when I'm done!

Over Good Friday weekend, we decided to do a little yard work. We planted two rosebushes, three azalea bushes, and a hydrangea bush. Well, sad news, deer came by a few days later and ate nearly every bud off our rosebushes, but we hope some new buds will come up soon, or maybe next year. The hydrangea and azaleas seem to be doing well though!

And, I couldn't leave this one out...Jason is such a good sport. He told his kids at school that if their team won the school raffle contest that he'd do something outrageous that they chose. Well, pink hair was the choice, so he went to school a few weeks ago with pink hair, and went around on rollerskates for the day. I'm just glad he didn't break his neck and the pink washed out that night. I wish I'd had Mr. Redmond for 7th grade math!
