Snow Day!

We found out on Monday afternoon that there was a possibility of snow on Tuesday. Being from Raleigh, we both had our doubts that we'd see much, but we couldn't help getting our hopes up. Well, sure enough, Tuesday morning we awoke to a snow covered city! We had a ball walking and playing in the snow which we haven't done in awhile since Raleigh hasn't been hit in the last few years. That afternoon we stayed warm inside and watched multiple episodes of the first season of 24 (we're trying to catch up). Then we went out again that night for some late night snow fun! Our hill was still there!

Outside our apartment ready for snow-filled day!

The view from our balcony

The woods behind our house

Just a pretty snow scene!

A Snow Angel Couple!

This sign at the corner of Lynn and Grove Barton was one of the winter weather casualties we guessed!

We went for a walk at about 8:30 just to experience it! The snow was still falling pretty good!(yes, miraculously we jumped right out of bed at the sight of snow and threw on our snow gear!)
Then we went to McDonald's for breakfast. We took this chance to try out the 4-wheel drive on Jason's Jeep, since he hasn't had any winter weather to test it on yet!

We explored the woods behind our apartment and they turned out really pretty covered in snow!

When we got back we saw some kids riding on a blow-up raft down the hill behind our apartment. We'd been trying to think of what we could use as a sled, and yes, we had an old blow up raft! Here's Jason trying to blow it up while watching the inauguration. Turns out it was full of holes, but it worked just fine without any air in it anyway!

Jason taking a ride!

Here are a few video clips of our downhill fun! We couldn't have asked for a better set up, and we had it all to ourselves! The videos don't really do justice though. The fastest and best rides didn't get caught on camera!

We're keeping the torn up raft just in case we get some more snow this year! We've got our fingers crossed!
