Yesterday I had the best birthday I've ever had! A great day at work with a special staff ladies lunch at Lonestar and then the evening just got better and better! The real excitement started with my drive home. Probably no one will think this is as amazing as I did, but trust me, it was amazing. So, the weather yesterday was a little bizarre, and I left work a few minutes late, hurrying out to my car b/c it looked like the heavens were about to open and I would be drenched within seconds. I got in my car at about 5:10, just as it really started coming down. But as I pulled up to the light to leave the church, the sky had the eeriest orange glow I had ever seen! The sun was setting behind some low, fast moving clouds, so I was just surrounded by an orange mist. Well, as I turned right out of the church I gasped as I saw this!

It was so much better in person b/c the rainbow kept going further in the sky behind my car!

As I waited for the light to change, the clouds kept going and the whole thing was changing by the second. I happened to have my camera in my work bag so I'm sure I looked like a weirdo leaning out in the rain to snap these pictures!

But then, I turned left and saw the most glorious sunset I think I've ever seen! Yes, I am driving while snapping this picture, but I kept my eyes on the road!

As I got closer to home it just kept transforming! It was incredible!

I could tell as I pulled in our complex that it would be gone in seconds, but I wanted to snap a picture from up on our balcony. I left everything in the car and ran upstairs, but not before stopping in the parking lot to look up at all the pink puffs now dotting the purple sky!

Below is the last shot I took, from up on our balcony. You can barely still make out the rainbow in the distance.

Within 1 minute from this picture the sky was completely a slate grey color again. I take this whole experience as a special birthday gift from Jesus, who timed my drive home to be exactly perfect! Thank you for such a glorious birthday present Lord!
Last night Jason and I went to Firebirds to celebrate and the best part was we had a gift card! The food was delicious and we totally stuffed ourselves!

Then we headed over to Jason's parents' house where they showered me with more gifts and some super yummy cupcakes! I got the whole series of Anne of Green Gables movies - I can't wait to have a movie marathon!

After we went home, the birthday celebration continued! I opened some special presents from Jason, one of which was hiding for me in our closet!

Bowling anyone?!

Jason made us this super special calendar with pictures of us, our family, and friends on each month. We plan to start a tradition of making a wall calendar each year with pictures of us from the previous year on each month. It will be a fun way to remember the years!

What a fabulous birthday! I'm so grateful to the Lord for the sweet husband, family, and friends He has blessed me with. He sure gives more than abundantly!
